It's That Time of Year

I love this time of the year.  Spring is peeking around the corner.  She teases us with glimpses of longer days, bits of sunshine, and a touch of warmer weather.  But that isn't the part that brightens my day.

I know once I see the pink Easter bunnies pop up in the store among the plastic green grass and multi-colored jelly beans, Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs are not far behind.  There's something special about those chocolatey peanut butter filled eggs.

I'm not sure why, but they're much better than the regular peanut butter cups you can buy year round.  No matter what, these special eggs can be found in Easter baskets at the Johnson house and this year, they'll be traveling to Turkey for Annie to share with her family and friends there.

What is your favorite Easter treat that comes out this time of year?

Thanks to Ruth and Stacey for hosting Slice of Life Challenge.

  1. Oh, my mother loved the Reese's Easter eggs. I discovered Dove coconut fulled half eggs. Very yummy...but glad they are not around all year. I do have a bag in my desk drawer now though. Enjoy your Reese's Easter Eggs...and I hope your daughter gets them in time to enjoy too. Jackie

  3. Probably shouldn't admit it, but I love Peeps! The yellow ones! Also chocolate marshmallow eggs. And jelly beans. And those speckled robin eggs. And ummm… OK, I have to get control! And I agree with you- love those Reese's Easter Eggs. Yum!

  4. Love, love, love Reese's Eggs. They are delightful when placed in the freezer before eating them. Like Carol, I also enjoy Peeps. I just saw a coffee with a Peep on top. What could be better than that? I'm still trying to figure out how you'd drink it with that huge Peep swimming at the top of the cup.

I loved this line, Julie: She teases us with glimpses of longer days, bits of sunshine, and a touch of warmer weather.
