Merhaba from Turkey! Slice of Life Tuesday

Yes, we made it to Turkey and I can't even describe the joy I felt as I wrapped my arms around my daughter.  It was a long 10 months...as soon as I heard her call my name, I burst into tears.  And how do I ever thank her host mom for being there for Annie when I couldn't be?

We've been here for one day and already I'm in love with Turkey.  The scenery is beautiful and even better is the hospitality we've encountered from everyone.  My husband and I just look at each other and say, "Can you believe we're in Turkey?"

Our first day in Istanbul was so fun and Annie was the perfect hostess. We wandered through the bazaars, took in a quick bus tour, and ate delicious food.  Here's just a little glimpse into our day when we stopped for ice cream served by a teenage jokester.  :)

Thanks to Ruth and Stacey for hosting the Slice of Life.  You can view other slices at http://twowritingteachers.wordpress.com/2013/06/25/tuesday-slices-3/

  14. Wow, Turkey... what an incredible experience! My cousin's husband is a JAG lawyer, and they've been stationed in Turkey for about a year now. I'm learning so much just from her Facebook posts! Your deep love for your daughter was so alive at the beginning of your post. Enjoy your time there! :-)
